Municipality of Southwest Middlesex contributions to Wardsville, 2001-2010
Council and staff of the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex have been steadfast in their support of Your Wardsville’s revitalization efforts. Recent municipal projects include the following (in no particular order):
· Commissioning of municipal sanitary sewer system installed by Village of Wardsville.
· Upgrading of municipal sanitary sewer system in 2010
· Installation of municipal water system for entire Village
· Resurfacing of all municipal streets within the Village
· Purchase of new pumper truck for Wardsville fire station
· Purchase of new tanker truck for Wardsville fire station
· Upgrades to Wardsville fire station, including new washroom facilities
· Restoration of Wardsville cemetery to meet safety standards
· Restoration of cenotaph, including new sidewalk, at Little Kin Park
· New playground equipment at Little Kin Park
· Replacement of fencing and pavilion renovation at Little Kin Park
· New municipal gardens on lot at Hagerty/Longwoods intersection and north along Hagerty street allowance
· New Christmas street lights
· New street benches
· Lease of Hammond Masonic Lodge building as a community centre
· Conversion of municipal office as a library, offering a larger space with washroom facilities
· Conversion of former library building as a historical museum
· New, over-sized, designer street signs
