Calling all local groups: Newbury, Glencoe, Bothwell, Rodney, Westlorne

Does your group need a break from your tireless work on behalf of your community?  Please consider gathering over at Beattie Haven’s basement for a barn quilt painting party!  The residents of Wardsville are working diligently to complete this community building project but they need some extra help.  Call Denise Corneil (519) 693-7002.

It’s all organized.  Your group just has to show up.  Beattie Haven will whip up some lunch and we’ll have a leader there to hand out brushes and make sure you all don’t stray too far outside the lines with the paint.

The first training workshop was held Saturday, March 13, 2010 in the basement.  The team has learned the tracing and painting process.    It’s all organized.  Beattie Haven will whip up some lunch and we’ll have a leader there to hand out brushes and make sure you all don’t stray too far outside the lines with the paint.

The painting parties start March 13th and will be completed before May 30th.  The goal is to engage citizens through the visual arts, as well as through expression, celebration and preservation of local historical heritage.  Wardsville wants everyone to:

  • learn more about our heritage
  • deepen the connection among our local artists, artisans and community
  • support and celebrate our hard working volunteers.
