While Wardsville Bicentennial weekend has a full Fri – Sun itinerary that is free, the special gathering on Saturday evening is $35/person – Mrs. Ward’s Country Chicken Dinner under the big canvas tent starts at 5:00 p.m. and lasts until it is time to clean up and go home. 7:30 pm. The Hanging of the Victory Barn Quilt Block. The crowd will stroll to the Wardsvile Cenotaph to solemnly commemorate the Victory Block, which pays tribute to the local men who died in the Battle of the Longwoods, March 4, 1814, the Great War, and World War II and all other Wars that Canadian people have died in
7:45-8:45 pm Shaymus Gunn, The Pioneer Story Teller. Listen to the tales of George Ward through the eyes of his good friend Shaymus Gunn.
9:00 pm – 11 . Dance Under the Moon with George Laidlaw Jazz Quartet and Catherine McInnes. Enjoy the Mile Long Dessert Table. Bojena Bladek’s sweet creations plus WOW potluck desserts.
